Overall scores and practice marks
Both exams report four skill scores: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. The overall result is their average. A2 Key has a combined Reading and Writing paper but still reports those two skills separately. B1 Preliminary has separate papers for them.
This tool accepts the overall whole-number score shown on a result. It does not convert raw marks, percentages or individual practice tasks into scale scores. A homemade test does not necessarily match the difficulty or scoring of the real exam. We have deliberately kept this calculator focused on interpreting a reported score.
What to do next
Look at the pattern across your four skill scores, then choose a focused next step. A weaker writing result could prompt a review of task coverage in the Writing Lab; reading errors may suggest vocabulary work or a closer look at the instructions. Read the A2 Key or B1 Preliminary guide before planning another exam.
